At the 2024 European Healthcare Design Congress at the Royal College of Physicians, our director and co-founder John Cooper was awarded the Susan Francis Design Champion award. This award is presented to a visionary healthcare leader who has championed, advocated and monitored the value of design across one or more major healthcare projects, working in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders to deliver excellence and set new standards in quality design. Susan Francis was a friend of our studio and one of UK’s inspirational visionaries of healthcare design. We at JCA are very proud and grateful for this honour and this video shows our friend and Architects for Health Chair Jamie Bishop present -a very surprised - John, with the award.
